Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information EVLONGHAUL LLC, a Kentucky limited liability company with a mailing address of PO Box 22171, Louisville, KY 40252-0171 ("EVLONGHAUL," "we," "us"), handles when you use evlonghaul.com (the "Service"), and the choices you have.
1. No Accounts, No Profiles
The Service does not offer user accounts. You do not need to create an account or provide direct identifiers such as your name or email address to plan a trip. However, information you and your browser provide while using the Service (the locations you enter, coordinates along your route, your IP address, and device and browser information) may constitute personal information under applicable law. We do not build profiles of individual users, and trip inputs are processed to produce your plan rather than stored in any database of ours.
On your device: your recent trips this session are kept in your browser's session storage so you can restore them instantly. That recent-trip record is never transmitted to us and is ordinarily cleared when you close the browser tab. Restoring a trip re-contacts the map and routing providers described in Section 2. Mapbox's browser libraries may separately use persistent local storage for a telemetry identifier and settings, and Cache Storage for map resources. Those items may remain until they expire under Mapbox's controls or you clear this site's browser data.
2. Information Processed to Serve You
Trip inputs, and who receives them. Producing a plan requires sending trip data to service providers, in two different ways:
- Directly from your browser to Mapbox (map display, place search, driving routes).
Because your browser contacts Mapbox itself, Mapbox receives the locations you search, route
coordinates, your IP address, and browser information. Mapbox's libraries may also send usage
telemetry to
events.mapbox.comand use the persistent browser storage described above. Mapbox processes this information under its own privacy policy. You can clear it using your browser's site-data controls, although doing so may require the map to download resources again. - Through our server to the charging-station data services (the U.S. DOE/NREL Alternative Fuels Data Center and Open Charge Map). These requests are proxied: the station services receive route coordinates and our server's address, not your IP address or browser details. For nearby-charger lookups, coordinates are rounded (to roughly a kilometer) before being sent.
Device location, only if you ask for it. The planner offers a button that fills "Leaving from" with your current location. It does nothing unless you press it and your browser grants permission, and it asks for street-level accuracy rather than the most precise fix available. When you use it, your browser reads your position and sends those coordinates directly to Mapbox to convert them into a street address, the same browser-to-Mapbox path described above. The address and coordinates then live in the page as your starting point, handled from then on exactly like an address you typed. Your route begins there, and route coordinates reach the charging-station services through our server at full precision. The rounding described above applies to the separate nearby-charger lookups, not to route coordinates. We do not store your device location and do not write it to our logs. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your browser's site settings, and you never need it: typing an address does the same job.
We may change service providers. The current list is always on our Data & attribution page, and we will update this policy, not just that page, if a provider change materially changes how personal information is collected or used.
Hosting, delivery, and security infrastructure. The Service runs on cloud hosting and content-delivery infrastructure (currently Amazon Web Services, including its CloudFront delivery network and security services). Like any such infrastructure, these providers process the IP address and request details (including requested URLs) of every visit in order to deliver pages, block attacks, and rate-limit abuse, and their security services may briefly retain samples of that information. Our own application does not write the addresses or coordinates you enter to its logs; routine application logs are limited to operational records needed to run and secure the Service.
Retention. Our application logs are ordinarily deleted within 30 days. We retain information longer only in three defined situations: (a) as needed to investigate or prevent a specific security or abuse incident; (b) where the law requires preservation, including a litigation hold; or (c) as aggregated statistics that no longer relate to any individual. Log information is not linked to named profiles and is not used for advertising; identifying an individual from logs happens only as necessary for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
Support email. If you email support@evlonghaul.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, and use them to answer you and improve the Service. Support mail is handled by our email-forwarding and mailbox providers as processors, and is ordinarily deleted within 12 months of resolving the inquiry.
3. Cookies
The core planning features of the Service do not require cookies and do not use tracking cookies.
4. Advertising
EVLONGHAUL does not currently use Google AdSense or advertising cookies. Before activating any advertising, we will update this Policy and implement any required consent and privacy-choice mechanisms.
Affiliate links (for example, to charging adapters) may include an identifier telling the merchant the referral came from us; the merchant handles any purchase under its own privacy policy. We disclose the affiliate relationship next to each recommendation.
5. What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties except the service providers described above, or where required by law. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@evlonghaul.com.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding personal information (such as access or deletion). Because we keep no user database, such requests will generally concern transient technical logs or support correspondence. To exercise any right, contact us at the address below; we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will receive conspicuous notice on this site, and changes apply prospectively from the date they are posted.
